Last week, we reviewed 3 of the top 6 ways to reduce your bounce rate, improving your chances of turning visitors into clients. Let’s continue the discussion here with the final 3 in the countdown.

3. Stay Current & Invest in Relevant Content
One of the most common reasons for high bounce rates is failure to deliver new, fresh, relevant, SEO-friendly content on a regular basis. By taking the time to update and enhance your site’s content, you reduce bounce rates by increasing visitor engagement. Increased engagement enhances your reputation as a thought leader in your area of practice, builds trust and increases the likelihood that your visitor will become a client.

Providing fresh, relevant content and information for your regular visitors can boost your rankings with Google and other search engine providers, as well. Need more convincing? Google openly notes that having little or no content on your site can negatively affect your rankings.

2. Open New Windows
Rather than redirecting your readers to external websites by navigating away from your own site, open all external links in a popup window on your site. This allows your readers to easily return to your site after they’ve viewed the external site, and offers you another chance to “seal the deal” with these prospective clients. The coding to ensure that all external sites are opened in new windows on your site may be tricky, so you may wish to work with an outside firm to ensure that it is done correctly.

And the number 1 tip to reduce your bounce rate?

1. Deliver Easy Navigation
It sounds so simple, but it’s often overlooked. If a visitor can’t get around on your site and easily find what they’re looking for, they will leave, costing you a potential client. Clean, simple design with easy and logical navigation is a plus that users will appreciate and reward you for by sticking around. Be sure you’re not making some of the most common navigation mistakes.

Reducing your site’s bounce rate, as you’ve read, can make a major difference in prospect conversion rates.
